Yann Burtin

Yann originally joined the Telecom Unit of World Bank on a secondment from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. Recently, Yann moved to MIGA (member of the World Bank Group and is the global provider of Political Risk Insurance to companies investing in emerging markets) to develop their Telecom portfolio/focus.

Yann has led IT and Telecommunications projects for the World Bank Group in more than 50 countries - i.e. Sub-Saharan Africa (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania), Middle East and North Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Syria) and Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, BiH, Lithuania, Romania, Russia) and East Asia and Pacific (Regional Pacific Broadband Cable, Indonesia, Samoa).

Yann is currently stationed in the Paris office of the World Bank Group. He has an Advanced Degree in Industrial Organization and a Masters degree in Applied Economics from the University of Pierre Mendès in France and the University of Exeter in UK.
